Meet the Board Members 




President 
Mark Polk

Mark Polk joined TTSS in 2010 and was one of the pioneers of  TTSS. Mark graduated from Inidiana University with a secondary education undergraduate degree with a minor in counseling in 1992. Mark went on to obtain a masters degree first and then a Ph. D in Counseling Psychology. Mark served as a high school teacher at Hamilton Heights from 1992-1996 and their school counselor from 1996-2007. From fall of 2007 until 2010, Mark served as the superintendent for Hamilton County Schools. Scott was one of the pioneers and creators of TTSS. He started TTSS with a dream and vision of  mending two generations together while mentoring each other.

Director 
Keith Cozart

Keith Cozart began at TTSS as a teen volunteer.  He received his B.A. in Music (percussion), with a minor in Business from the University of Northern Colorado.  Previously he was employed as director of percussion and at Earlham College and Indiana University East. At Additionally at Indiana University East, Keith was an active online instructor of music history. Among his other interests are drum circle facilitation and instrument building. One of his passions is travel.  He has studied abroad in Salvador, Brazil and Guinea, Africa.
Keith is currently working to complete his Master Degree in Community and Adult Education at Ball State University.
Treasurer 
Angela Britton

Angela Britton joined TTSS as Treasurer in 2013.  She is a former Social Studies teacher, Assessment Counselor for individuals with disabilities, and has worked in the area of Higher Education since 1993, before transitioning into her role at TTSS.  Angela’s background in teaching, her passion for working in a non-profit agency, and genuine desire to assist others has led Angela into this position. 

Angela’s undergraduate degree is in Secondary Education from Ball State University and her Master’s degree in Adult and Community Education is also from Ball State University.  Angela hopes to bring awareness to assisting the senior community, as well as helping teens understand and experience the pure joy of helping within their community and making a difference in our senior populations’ lives.

Administrative Assistant 
Rayla Dawalt

Rayla Dawalt joined TTSS as an Administrative Assistant in 2014 after a successful career in the criminal justice and social work field.

Rayla most recently served 10 years as a Life Coach and teacher at The Excel Center in Kokomo, IN. Her work has consistently promoted students to excel in their studies while doing their best. She has helped several students achieve their dreams by obtaining their high school diploma, enrolling in college, and obtaining their dream jobs. She has been a member of Tri Kappa since 2002 and serves on the Round the Table board in Peru, IN. Her hopes are to inspire others to live their life to the fullest and being grateful of every person that crosses their path.

Rayla began her career as a Family Support Specialist with Health Families in Peru, IN. She went on to dedicate 10 years working for the Indiana Parole Board, Release Coordinator, and Addiction’s counselor at Miami Correction Facility.  With a Master’s Degree in Public Service and Adult and Community Education, Rayla hopes to make a contribution to the success of the national office and our affiliates across the country.

Teen Staff
“Senior”, “Junior” and “Sophomore”.  There can be multiple teen volunteers in each structure of rank (Senior, Junior, and Sophomore).  The teens’ positions/”promotions” are based on length of volunteer service hours.      

Senior- 70+ hours 
Junior-30-69 hours 
Sophomore-0-29 hours 

A time log of the days, hours, and activities with their senior is signed and submitted by the teens each week.
